The journey from home

Thunder boomed somewhere in the clouds. A booming sound rang in my ears. My mom shouted, “Quick! Pack some clothes and go to the backdoor!” I did as I was told, my face pale white, and grabbed some possessions I had. I ran as fast as I could, and went out the door. Then, I heard a meow in my ears. “Cupid! My cat!” But mom just pulled me harder. As we were out the gate, I thrust my monks arms away and ran back. Cupid was shocked, but not hurt. I grabbed her and stuffed the worn out cat into my rucksack. I ran out again, and followed my family out the street. Just as we were farer from danger, a bomb dropped on our house. A tear plattered down on my red cheeks. But I didn’t stop, and kept running.

We saw a boat ahead of us, with some other people in it. We hopped in, and started rowing. I took cupid into the cabin, and put her on a dusty bed. I sat beside her, and fell asleep at once. The next morning, we arrived at the land, and stepped onto the dried dirt. We walked, not knowing where to go, but just walked. The sun drenched onto my face, burning it hotter than ever. At night, we sat down onto a rock to rest. I ate a piece of dried bread, and gave cupid some milk. Just as I was about to relax, a lion jumped out from behind the ruffled bushes. I stared into its ocean blue eyes, which were like crystals, staring back at me. The silence broke, and my parents and some other people started throwing rocks and sticks at it. I suddenly remembered something. I ran to my dad and snatched a gun out of his pocket. I pulled the trigger and a bast of light streaked towards the lion. Before we knew it, it had run deeper into the forest. we all let out a deep breath, and walked on. As we walked on, I saw something slither between the dry leaves. “A snake”! I warned the others. We all keeped far from it, until it disappeared yet again into the dark and gloomy night.

The next morning, we arrived at the dark forest. I took a breath of fresh air, and It seemed like I had hope again. The sun shone on us as we walked on the gray pavement. In the evening, we sat down to rest. My eyelids started dropping, and before I knew it, I closed my eyes into a deep sleep. When I woke up, I saw that I was alone. NOt a shadow was to be seen. I jumped up, grabbed the rucksack with Cupid in it, and started running through the starleSome soldiers were guarding an entrance. When they saw us, they walked up to us and said, “what are you doind here?” We told them about what happened. They brang us through the thorng gate and into a REfugee camp. “Welcome to New Zealnd Refugee camp.” They said. And there, we lived saftly and no danger ever approached us.
