Fairy tale Ending
Timidly, she pushed back the branches and peered into the clearing. Sunshine drenched the ground as it poured through the canopy above.
She had been following the trail of clues for days, and she had finally reached her destination. Were the stories true? Was this really the place people in her village had talked about for centuries?
She hoped her own story would have a fairy tale ending, but in the back of her mind a sickening thought arose – what if something more sinister waited ahead?
Slowly, Abigail pushed apart some bushes and peeked into the light. A giant delicate castle lay ahead of her, standing in the sunshine. Abigail gasped, and nearly fell over. She walked towards the castle, unaware what was waiting for her beyond it. No soldiers or guards were guarding the entrance, and no one was passing by. Abigail had not expected this, and as she pushed the huge doors, strangely it was not locked, so it creaked open. Inside was a fancy hallway, but no people or servants were inside. Abigail passed through the hall and entered a dark attic. Old bits of parchment lay on the floor, and broken glass were shattered.
Abigail looked towards a mirror. She screamed. Staring back at her was not herself, but a person in a cloak. The clock hid its face, and stared at Abigail. Abigail ran back towards the hall, but stopped. Because in front of her was another mirror, with the same person in a cloak. Suddenly Abigail remembered what stories the villagers in her town talked about. The story all began, in this castle, and it goes like this. On a gloomy night in a lost castle far far away, was a mirror. Inside the mirror was a man in a cloak. Whoever went inside, will never come back. A chill went down Abigail's spine. Was this it? Was this the man in a Cloak?
Abigail had come here to finish her destiny, to finish the fairy tale, so what if this was her destiny? She must finish this story, to finish this man in a cloak, so she can end the fairy tale. Then she remembered what her family told her. Braveness and being confident, not to fear something was the only way to destroy the man in a cloak. Abigail turned to the man, and shouted “I am not afraid of you! I am going to end this, to destroy you!” With a flash of blinding light, the mirror broke. A piercing scream echoed through the hall, but Abigail was not at all scared. Abigail walked past the door, the bushes, and started her journey home. Now the fairytale of Abigail and the man in a cloak is told all over the fairy tale world, and that Abigail lived happily ever after.
